Spiritual Growth: Being Open VS Seeking

(Last Updated On: December 22, 2017)

Anyone interested in spiritual growth is curious. That’s a great starting point. In my work as a shaman and spiritual catalyst, curiosity is the one commonality I see. Each person I come in contact with through these roles wants to know more about the spiritual nature of Earth and guides and wants to grow spiritually.

Curiosity is a great beginning! From there, I tend to see people diverge into two subsets. Those who are open to having experiences that increase their spiritual connection and those who seek them out. Each method has its merits and everyone will do what’s comfortable for them, however, I encourage each and every one of you to SEEK out those experiences.

Here’s why: Seeking spiritual connection creates energy and intention. This lets your guides and other spirits with your highest and best good in mind know that you’re READY and that you WANT to work with them. Seeking spiritual growth and connection pushes you to step outside your comfort zone and experience new things. In doing so, you’re more likely to stumble across and connect with a spiritual practice (or practices) that resonate with you.

In contrast, being open is more passive. Your guides and helper spirits can get in, but they’re not sure if you’re truly ready. It puts the work of connecting on their side. The plain fact is that they want to see us work to connect with them. Being open depends on spiritual connection FINDING you. It’s hard enough to find your friend if you get separated at the mall, never mind something more ethereal like spiritual connection.

Think about it like this. If you’re visiting a new city and go on a tour, that guide (who knows far more about the city than you do) is paid for showing you around. Putting in the effort and energy to seek your guides is the pre-payment for their services. In spiritual realms, we call this an exchange of energy.

If you’re putting your energy and intention into seeking a spiritual connection, you vastly increase your odds. Just as when you get separated from your friend at the mall, if you put your energy and intention into finding them, you’re more likely to reconnect quickly.

How long have you been open to spiritual experiences without them finding you? If you’re ready to start SEEKING that connection, I suggest you check out my books and/or online classes to get started.
