It seems like everyone I talk to lately is struggling with mindfulness in some way, even if they don’t call it that.
I have a friend whose job is very stressful, to the point of it impacting her health. She’s trying to cope with it by making a list of at least five things that went well every day.
She doesn’t know it, but that’s a mindfulness practice. It’s also gratitude. As you continue your own journey with mindfulness, you’ll see that the two (mindfulness and gratitude) are intimately connected.
To help you along the way, check out these great mindfulness books.
Okay, I’m a little biased because I wrote this one, but I can tell you that each activity in the book is something I’ve done – so I know they work!
They’re simple, yet effective practices that ANYONE can do. And most of them take less than 5 minutes! I’d be honored if you’d check it out. 🙂 I promise you will feel less stressed and more at peace.
Practicing Mindfulness: 75 Essential Meditations to Reduce Stress, Improve Mental Health, and Find Peace in the Everyday
Long title aside, this book is great for helping you get reconnected when life gets stressful and crazy. The practices in this book take between 5 – 20 minutes. They’re practical and effective.
As the name suggests, every mindfulness practice in the book takes about 10 minutes. They help you tap into your subconscious and unconscious mind so that you can move forward free from regrets about the past and worries about the future.
Mindfulness: An Eight-Week Plan for Finding Peace in a Frantic World
Based on Mindful Cognitive Behavior Therapy (MBCT), which many therapists use as part of their work with clients, this book provides simple practices you can do each day that will help you become more mindful and at peace. Each practice takes 10 – 20 minutes.
If you’re feeling like your life is a rollercoaster of changes that you can’t keep up with, you need more mindfulness in your life! Just like my book, the practices in this book are quick and simple and help you discover your inner strength.
